Commentary In Pursuance Of Books The Morganville Vampires, Volume 1 (The Morganville Vampires #1-2)
In Rachel Caine's town of Morganville, "there's always a surprise just around every dark corner" - and it usually involves the undead. Now these secrets come to light in the first two books of the Morganville Vampires series, together in one volume. GLASS HOUSES Morganville is a small college town in the heart of Texas that has its share of quirky characters - and some evil ones too. When student Claire Danvers moves off campus into one of Morganville's oldest houses, she finds that her roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood. THE DEAD GIRLS' DANCE Claire Danvers has her share of challenges - like living among creatures of the night. On the upside, she has a great roommate (who tends to disappear at sunup) and a new boyfriend. Now a fraternity is throwing its annual Dead Girls' Dance and - surprise! - Claire and her equally outcast friend have been invited. When they find out why, all hell breaks loose, because this time both the living and the dead are ready to tear up the night.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS SO BACK OFF BEFORE YOU HATE ME SO MUCH. I actually read this book two years ago. I reread the book yesterday and finished it this morning. What makes it so special that I keep reading this series is that IT IS SO DIFFERENT FROM TWILIGHT /YAS FINALLY I WANNA SEE OTHER VAMPIRES' POV FGS/ I kinda like how the whole 'Protection' thing is going on in the story. I really like how the houses in the Morganville use 'permissions' to welcome their guests. That is freakingThe story takes place in a Texas small town Morganville, unbeknownst to outsiders, the town was secretly ran by vampires and humans were treated as second class citizens and bloodbank on two legs. The heroine Claire was a very smart 16 years old girl leaving home to study in an university next to Morganville, only to find herself the easy target of school bullies and worse, she was also being dragged into the troubles between vampires and humans in town. Luckily she wasnt alone, Claire found her
This book is amazing i absolutely loved it there wasn't any parts were it was boring or made me want to stop reading and i could not put this book down. Claire is a person that people can relate to cause people treated her like a kid but she became very responsible and very helpful to her housemates and got the attention of a lot of vampires and she was bullied a lot for a small thing that she did so she became very popular and wanted by vampires in morgansville.

I pretty much avoid sparkly vampire stories. Ive never read Twilight, and have not seen the movies. I am only vaguely familiar with Anne Rices stuff. I have been self-sheltered from fantasy vampire fiction. When I seen that Penguin Books (NAL Trade) was going to do a re-release of Rachel Caines The Morganville Vampires in a 2 in 1 format.. I asked for a copy. I wanted to get a feel for this whole area of fantasy Ive had no clue about. As a reviewer I felt somewhat obligated to at least try it.
Okay, okay, I realize I give a lot of the books I read five stars, but what can I say, I love every one of them. Maybe it's because I pick really great books or my friends recommend them to me. Either way, I give this one 5 stars as well. The pretense was not what I expected, in a good way. I expected the vampires to be nice....uh...NO.I expected the residents in the Glass House to be vampires....uh.....NO. I expected Claire to have special abilities.....uh.....NO.I expected Shane to have a deep
I wanted to like this one. I really did. It seemed like it was made for me. Morganville? Morgan? You can't ignore the connection. But sadly I was disappointed. The volume I read was an omnibus of the first two books. I wish I just would've bought the first one. The series is about Claire Danvers, a 16 yr old student living in the college town of Morganville. She moves into the Glass House, but not all her roommates might be living. She soon finds out that Morganville is no ordinary college town,
The best thing about this book (these books?) is that it deviates from all the common plot points that are becoming normal parts of so many YA books nowadays--there're no love triangles, a completely different take on vampires, and a dangerously mysterious town with a frightening hierarchy of species. Although Claire is a new type of protagonist, a bookish sixteen-year-old genius who's already a freshman in college, she definitely has pluck and a protective loyalty towards her friends and
