Someone called this a "bodice ripper" in another review. Hm -- I think that person needs to read an actual bodice ripper and then think again. I read this on my honeymoon in 1995. It was a book I picked up by chance (I remembered the huge advance Koen got) and I am vey glad I did. It's just a great read with interesting characters and great settings.
